Hello. I know my word doesn’t mean much. But my great grandmother wrote Blueberry Hill. Back when my Grandfather was younger there were contests for lyrics, and my grandmother liked to put her ideas into the paper.
My Great-grandmother wrote Blueberry Hill about my Great-Grandfather and herself. She passed away from lung cancer at a young age and after that Blueberry Hill was published. My grandmother, a mother of 13 children who’s husband was institutionalized after he saw his best friend be decapitated by a train. My great-grandmother who loved her children and her husband very much, who dabbled in poetry and music, who died in a bed while her children went to get her a wash cloth.
My great-aunt has proof she wrote it. Although none of the family wants to chase around old laws we have the original writings of my great-grandmother. Somewhere we have proof that an ordinary housewife wrote a song that became a tune sung on TV and by Elvis himself.
It would mean a lot to me, and to her, if you'd just acknowledge this. Her name was Louisa. If you don't believe that is fine but please for the love of god, don't leave hate. Thanks.
